Casual Assistant Engineer (Marine) is responsible for overseeing vessel equipment operation, making log entries and reporting problems to the Chief Engineer. The role involves assisting with primary level maintenance and repair of vessels while underway. Key responsibilities include engine room duties, emergency duties underway, and yard supervision when working ashore.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Safe operation of all engines, auxiliary machinery, and related systems in motor vessels and facilities
  • Compliance with Federal Regulations 46 CFR subpart C, 15.401, 15.405, subpart D 15.501, and 15.825
  • Contributing to safe vessel operation and equipment maintenance
  • Responding decisively and effectively to emergency situations

  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and machinery technical manuals
