Job Overview

NorthBay Health Medical Center is seeking a skilled and dedicated Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) to join their team. As an Occupational Therapist II, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, providing high-quality care to patients with hand injuries or conditions.

About the Role

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Occupational Therapist who can provide expert care to patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in occupational therapy, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team-based setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate patients based on physician referral, develop treatment plans and goals, administer procedures and modalities, and plan for discharge using Occupational Therapy techniques.
  • Act as a case manager for assigned patients, ensuring seamless coordination of care and effective communication with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate and current patient records, adhering to departmental policies and guidelines.
  • Provide patient, family, and caregiver instructions and guidance for home programs and use of adaptive equipment, promoting independence and self-management.
  • Communicate effectively with rehabilitation team members, families, physicians, and third-party payers about patient progress and changes in programs as needed.
  • Participate in in-service meetings and professional development activities to stay up-to-date with best practices and industry developments.
  • Serve as a mentor and supervisor to occupational therapist assistants and student interns or volunteers, fostering a culture of learning and growth.

Requirements

  • Current California Occupational Therapy license required.
  • NBCOT Certification; Current AHA or equivalent BLS certification.
  • Minimum bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent.

Estimated Salary Range: $1,233 - $1,500 per week, depending on experience and qualifications. This position offers a competitive compensation package, including benefits and opportunities for professional growth and development.
