Job Summary:

The Korotkova lab is seeking a diligent and enthusiastic undergraduate student eager to acquire knowledge in microbiological, biochemical, and molecular methodologies. The primary objectives of our research initiatives are to investigate the virulence mechanisms of significant bacterial pathogens and to develop innovative therapeutic strategies. Responsibilities include: preparing media stocks and buffers, maintaining laboratory glassware and plasticware, and assisting with experimental procedures. Candidates with prior coursework or experience in Chemistry and Biology are preferred. This opportunity is particularly suitable for pre-med students or those considering graduate studies in microbiology or biochemistry. Once acclimated, students will have the chance to engage in research projects.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities:

The ideal candidate should possess the ability to calculate chemical solution concentrations and have a foundational understanding of pH and buffers. Additional training will be provided. Applicants should be committed to joining a scientific team for the long-term rather than just for a single semester. This position represents an excellent opportunity for students to gain laboratory experience, deepen their scientific knowledge, and contribute meaningfully to our research endeavors.
