Firefighter Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Firefighter to join our team at the City of Reno Fire Department. As a Firefighter, you will be responsible for responding to emergency situations, providing fire safety education, and maintaining a high level of physical fitness to perform firefighting and rescue tasks.

• Respond to fires and other emergency situations in a timely and safe manner
• Participate in fire prevention and safety education programs
• Conduct inspections and enforce fire codes
• Develop and maintain high levels of work knowledge and skills through training and drills
• Operate and maintain firefighting equipment and apparatus
• Perform various public information and relations tasks
• Maintain a high level of physical fitness to perform firefighting and rescue tasks

• Completion of a high school diploma or equivalent
• Possession of a current, valid driver's license
• Possession of current, valid Nevada Emergency Medical Technician certification or National Registry Emergency Medical Technician certification
• Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) certification

To be considered for this position, you must have taken and passed the National Testing Network, Inc. test and have added the Reno Fire Department as one of your agencies within the past six months of your application date. Please submit your application with all required documentation and a copy of your CPAT certification.
