We are seeking a skilled Pastry Assistant to join our team at Ole & Steen, a renowned Danish bakery. As a Pastry Assistant, you will play a crucial role in preparing a variety of cakes, pastries, and other sweet goods according to our traditional Danish recipes.

• Prepare and bake a range of sweet goods, including cakes, pastries, and breads, using traditional Danish recipes and techniques.
• Maintain the quality of products being baked, adjusting oven temperatures and baking times as needed.
• Combine ingredients in mixing, blending, or cooking machinery, ensuring accurate measurements and precise control.
• Decorate pastries and cakes in a consistent style, ensuring a visually appealing presentation.
• Check the quality of raw materials to ensure they meet our high standards and specifications.
• Follow plating and display standards to ensure our products are presented in an attractive and appealing manner.
• Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, ordering as needed to maintain optimal stock levels.
• Properly label and store ingredients and supplies, adhering to health and safety regulations.
• Check equipment regularly to ensure it meets health and safety standards, performing routine maintenance and repairs as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to health and safety standards and company policies.

• A High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Completion of a Culinary School program or apprenticeship is highly desirable.
• 1-2 years of experience in pastry-making or a related field is required.
• The ability to stand for long periods and lift 50 pounds is essential.
• Basic math skills and attention to detail are necessary for accurate measurements and quality control.
• Excellent time management skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment are required.
• Able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to health and safety standards and company policies.
• Thoroughly follow company procedures and health and safety regulations.
