Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and dedicated Classroom Teacher to join our team at UMOS. As a Classroom Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality education and care to our young students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the needs of our students, incorporating the Creative Curriculum System and the Head Start Early Learning Outcome Framework.
  • Establish and maintain a safe and nurturing learning environment that promotes social, emotional, and cognitive development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure seamless transitions and effective communication with families.
  • Conduct regular assessments and evaluations to track student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of student progress, including developmental screenings and assessments.
  • Communicate regularly with families through written reports and verbal updates, using the PFCE Framework to capture ongoing dialog.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current on best practices and research-based methods.
Requirements
  • 21 years of age or older.
  • Infant and Toddler CDA (Infant and Toddler classroom only) or equivalent, with coursework in early childhood development.
  • Preferred teaching experience with children ages 0-5.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with preferred bilingualism in Spanish and English.
  • Basic computer skills, including data entry and internet navigation.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license with adequate insurance.
  • Ability to work flexible and/or irregular hours with some travel.
Work Environment

Our work environment is fast-paced and dynamic, with a focus on providing high-quality education and care to our students. As a Classroom Teacher, you will be required to stand, walk, sit, and bend frequently, with occasional lifting and moving of up to 30 pounds. You will also be exposed to moderate temperature and noise levels, with occasional travel by bus.

Additional Requirements
  • Criminal background check prior to employment.
  • Physical exam and TB screening test showing absence of Tuberculosis within 30 days of employment.
  • Complete SIDS & Shaken Baby Training prior to working with children.
  • Fire Extinguisher Training.
  • Proof of certification in Infant/Child CPR and First Aid within 30 days or sooner if required by local/state regulation.
  • Register in the State Childcare registry.
