Job Summary and QualificationsPOSITION SUMMARY:
The RN staff nurse delivers direct nursing care in alignment with the established policies and procedures of Las Palmas Medical Center and the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners.
In collaboration with patients, their families, and other healthcare team members, the clinical RN assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and coordinates treatment plans tailored to the needs of endoscopy patients, gastroenterologists, pulmonologists, and staff.
The Endoscopy RN works closely with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, to ensure high-quality care; provides professional nursing services utilizing the nursing process; develops and promotes customer service skills in interactions with all internal and external stakeholders; participates in unit Quality Improvement initiatives; and fosters an environment conducive to quality patient care through effective resource management.
The RN serves as an advocate for patients and families, ensuring the right to privacy by safeguarding confidential information; plans and executes patient care and education based on comprehensive assessments and patient age; evaluates and documents patient responses; monitors and identifies changes in physiological and psychological conditions, taking appropriate actions based on assessments.
Qualifications Required:
Licensure/Certifications:
- Valid nursing license in the state of Texas.
- BLS certification.
- ACLS certification (with exceptions for GN, within 6 months from date of hire).
- Conscious sedation certification (within 3 months from date of hire).
Education/Experience:
- 1-2 years of nursing experience.
- ADN or BSN degree.
- Proficient oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to assist in moving over 100 pounds with support from other staff.
- Strong team management and time management skills to ensure quality patient care.
- Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
- Critical thinking skills with the ability to prioritize continuously.
- Basic computer proficiency.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Endoscopy.
- Specialty certification as applicable.
- Ability to recognize Cardiac Dysrhythmias.
