Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Dietetic Technician to join our team at Lifespan. As a key member of our Food and Nutrition Services department, you will play a vital role in supporting our Clinical Dietitians in providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collect and review patient information, including nutrition and weight histories, food allergies, and preferences.
  • Assist in developing and implementing nutrition care plans, including menu selection and adjustments for compliance with prescribed diets.
  • Conduct meal rounds to monitor food consumption and customer satisfaction, and provide education and guidance on food choices and meal planning.
  • Communicate with patients, families, and caregivers to ensure effective care and support.
  • Collaborate with the Clinical Dietitian to document patient progress and adjust the nutrition care plan as needed.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as nutrition or dietetics.
  • Completion of an ACEND Didactic Program in Dietetics.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and hospital personnel.
  • Ability to develop and implement nutrition care plans, and to work within the food service system.
  • Computer competency in Microsoft Office.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience in a nursing home or hospital setting.
  • Knowledge of electronic health records and food service systems.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

This position requires some exposure to communicable diseases, but hazards are minimized by adherence to established safety procedures and precautions.
