Job Summary

The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) will provide high-quality nursing care to residents in a skilled nursing facility. This role requires a strong commitment to delivering compassionate and respectful care, while maintaining a positive and calm demeanor. The LVN will work closely with the healthcare team to ensure that residents receive the best possible care.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide routine daily nursing care to residents, including vital sign checks, wound dressing, and catheter insertion
• Listen to residents and their families, addressing their questions and concerns in a timely and empathetic manner
• Perform accurate and detailed charting of resident progress notes, ensuring timely reporting of changes in resident condition to the nurse supervisor
• Assist and supervise Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) in providing care to residents
• Ensure equipment is in good operating order, monitoring residents at risk for falls, and collecting lab samples as needed
• Abide by all facility policies and procedures, including infection control and occupational exposure protocols

Requirements

• Completion of LVN training from an accredited school or college
• Valid LVN license in good standing, with CPR and BLS certification
• IV Certification is a plus, with a minimum of 1 year of skilled nursing experience preferred
• Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend the English language, with the ability to use a computer or tablet to enter resident data
• Working conditions may include frequent interruptions, exposure to odors, dust, and disinfectants, and potential exposure to infectious waste and hazardous chemicals
• Must be able to move intermittently throughout the day, with the ability to lift up to 25 pounds and require assistance for heavier lifting
• COVID-19 vaccine is required for this position
