Education and Experience Requirements: Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in accounting or finance, or a Bachelor's degree supplemented by coursework that qualifies for the CPA Examination. Additionally, a minimum of two (2) years of professional accounting or finance experience is required, including at least six (6) months in a supervisory capacity, depending on the specific area of assignment.

Key Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Processing and recording financial transactions, including preparing and reviewing various accounting documents such as journal entries and vendor payment vouchers.
  • Ensuring accurate accounting and reporting of capital assets, including maintaining fixed asset records and conducting annual physical inventories.
  • Managing grant accounting by preparing reconciliation schedules and ensuring compliance with federal and state financial assistance requirements.
  • Preparing and reviewing monthly general ledger account reconciliations and quarterly financial statement variance analyses.
  • Assisting in the preparation of the annual financial report, including necessary disclosures.
  • Supervising staff in the preparation of payment vouchers and travel expense reports.
  • Reviewing account coding for accuracy and monitoring revenues and expenses against budgeted amounts.

Work Environment: This position involves light work, primarily sitting, with occasional exertion of up to 20 pounds of force. Proficiency in the use of electronic office equipment is required.
