About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of underprivileged youths. As a Career Development Specialist, you will be responsible for providing personal and career counseling to students, helping them to enhance their employability and achieve success in the Job Corps program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Student Case Management: Ensure that student case loads meet or exceed DOL/Company performance goals.
  • Comprehensive Counseling: Provide students with individualized case management, ensuring progress, retention, and completion of the Job Corps program.
  • Mentoring and Support: Establish supportive relationships with students, providing personal, educational, and career counseling throughout their enrollment.
  • Progress Assessment: Ongoing assessment of student progress in Academic, Career Technical, and Independent Living areas.
  • Personal Career Development Plans: Develop and update student Personal Career Development Plans.
  • Service Coordination: Coordinate services for students, both on- and off-Center, to ensure retention and success in the program.
  • Transportation: Transport students as needed or required.
  • Performance Evaluation: Routinely evaluate and document student performance using case management systems.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree, including at least 15 semester hours in Social Services-related instruction, from an accredited school.
  • Experience: A minimum of one year of experience in counseling or a related field.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Previous Job Corps or related program experience.
  • Driver's License: Must possess a valid in-State Driver's License and meet Company insurability requirements.
