The Gas Reservoir Optimization Engineer will evaluate and enhance reservoir capabilities to guarantee optimal recovery rates throughout the operational lifespan of gas wells and fields. This role, focused on customer satisfaction and profitability, is vital for predicting and tracking production, particularly through the application of Upwing's innovative artificial lift technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Characterize gas reservoirs utilizing available formation data (dimensions, characteristics, qualities, pressure, temperature, etc.) to forecast reservoir performance.
  • Examine, assess, and model reservoir information using computational tools to generate accurate simulations of the formation.
  • Execute simulations and offer operational insights regarding the production capacity of gas wells, with or without artificial lift technologies.
  • Formulate production profiles and communicate recommendations to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Enhance gas well output through the application of artificial lift technologies and suitable completion designs.
  • Investigate and interpret real-time data from field wells to uncover opportunities for production enhancement.
  • Compile reports summarizing analysis findings.
  • Collaborate with the business development team to ensure prompt fulfillment of client requirements.
  • Work closely with the field service team to strategize well workovers and implement artificial lift technology.
  • Actively engage in front-end engineering processes to influence the design parameters of artificial lift technologies.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in geoscience, reservoir engineering, petroleum engineering, or a related discipline.
  • An advanced degree in related fields is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Expertise in production and artificial lift technologies is preferred.
  • Proven experience in analyzing gas reservoirs and optimizing gas production is essential.
  • Proficiency in modeling and simulation software.
  • Strong analytical capabilities, field observation skills, and results interpretation.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary team setting.
  • Flexibility when engaging with internal and external stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset to pursue new opportunities.
  • Experience with gas compression and multiphase flow dynamics is a plus.
