Tax Leadership Role

This leadership role involves overseeing tax compliance, managing clients and employees, and coordinating various tax projects through all related phases of the tax process with minimal supervision. The work encompasses diverse industries including manufacturing, oil and gas, insurance, healthcare, government, wholesale/distribution, financial institutions, and non-profit companies.
Key Responsibilities- Set an example for the team by living out and promoting the firm's core values HT3 and service standards.
- Develop expertise in a specialized area, demonstrating a general understanding of all areas of taxation.
- Consult with clients on tax and business matters, providing guidance on complex issues.
- Understand client goals and objectives, advocating for effective tax and business solutions.
- Manage client contacts, organizing communications with complex clients.
- Prepare complex returns with minimal supervision, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Independently complete complex tasks from start to finish.
- Conduct thorough analyses and investigations of client needs before representing them to the Internal Revenue Service.
- Supervise and train tax seniors, staff, and interns to guarantee accurate and timely completion of tax work.
- Process and review moderately complex returns, maintaining quality control standards.
- Participate in department and Firm administration.
- Support niche development activities as needed.
- Promote a proprietary interest in the Firm and its clients.
- Foster effective communication and teamwork within the organization.
- Define self-expectations through the performance process, assisting in the development of senior and staff expectations.
- Efficiently manage hours associated with project and client budgets.
- Maintain and expand knowledge of tax law through regular review of periodicals and participation in required Firm continuing education meetings.
- Attend and participate in advanced tax training sessions.
- Develop personal marketing plans and maintain a list of personal clients to meet annual revenue targets.
- Engage in professional, business, and community organizations to advance the profession.
- Chargeable time is estimated at 1,400 – 1,500 hours within a 2,250-hour year.
A Bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited institution is required. A CPA certification is preferred, but Enrolled Agent Certification is also accepted. Minimum of five (5) years public accounting experience is necessary. Strong technical, research, organizational, and analytical skills are essential. Previous experience using paperless tax software is beneficial. Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and other software applications is required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary. Dedication to teamwork and leadership is expected. Ability to work successfully within scheduled deadlines is crucial.
Physical DemandsThe employee will regularly be required to sit, stand, reach, walk, drive, kneel, crouch, crawl, and lift up to 25 pounds while performing the duties of this job.
