Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled CT Technologist to join our team at Tysons Corner Medical Center. As a CT Technologist, you will be responsible for performing computerized tomography examinations of patients as requested by referring physicians.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greets patients, confirms images to be taken, explains procedures to patients, and is sensitive to patients' anxiety about procedures.
  • Reviews patients' medical history prior to performing CT procedures and confirms that patients have signed a contrast media consent form.
  • Positions patients on examination tables and monitors patients' conditions during examinations.
  • Introduces intravenous contrast material as directed by radiologists.
  • Controls and adjusts CT equipment to ensure that images meet requirements.
  • Maintains equipment and examination rooms, stores film, and keeps inventory of related supplies.
  • Prepares patient information files showing patients' names, dates of CT examinations, referring physicians, and nature of examinations.
  • Prepares and submits reports showing the number and type of examinations.
Requirements
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience as a CT Technologist or registry-eligible ARRT advanced certification in CT required.
  • Current on CEUs with ARRT required.
  • Venipuncture competency checks off or must acquire competency check off within three (3) months of hire.
  • Ability to stand, push, pull, and lift patients.
  • Ability to concentrate on fine detail with constant interruption and attend to tasks for 20 to 45 minutes at a time.
  • Ability to adjust routine to accommodate patients or department without affecting departmental flow.
  • Effective interpersonal skills and ability to stand, walk, bend, lift at least 50 pounds, hear, speak, and see.

This part-time position is located at Tysons Corner Medical Center in Virginia. The work schedule is 20 hours per week, with a day shift and weekend hours.
