Medical Assistant Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our team at Advanced Dermatology in Leeds, AL.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Room patients and document vital information
  • Scribe information for the dermatologist
  • Provide post-op wound care to patients
  • Draw blood and remove sutures
  • Clean and stock exam rooms
  • Schedule patient appointments

Assisting the Dermatologist:

  • Surgical photographs
  • Biopsies - punch, DIF and shave
  • Excisions
  • Electrodessication and curettage
  • I&D
  • Mohs micrographic skin cancer surgery
  • Phototherapy
  • Injections
  • Koh preps
  • Trichograms
  • Tzank preps
  • Dermabrasion
  • Patch testing
  • Blue light

Requirements:

  • Minimum post-high school education in a medical support field
  • 1-2 years of recent experience in a medical office in a similar capacity
  • Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Record systems
  • Organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with staff, clients, and visitors
