Responsibilities- Provide compassionate and basic nursing care to students in accordance with individual care plans and school policies.
- Assist students with daily activities such as feeding, toileting, grooming, and mobility as needed.
- Monitor and record students' vital signs, behaviors, and overall health status during school hours.
- Administer medications and treatments under the direction and supervision of school nursing staff.
- Collaborate with teachers, school nurses, and parents to ensure coordinated care and support for students with special medical needs.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of medical supplies and equipment in accordance with infection control protocols.
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies and provide first aid as necessary until additional medical support arrives.
- Document all care provided accurately and timely in student health records.
- Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to maintain certification and stay updated on best practices in school nursing.
- Uphold confidentiality and privacy standards when handling medical information related to students.
- Previous experience in school or pediatric environments is preferred.
- Must possess CNA certification for Kansas.
- Demonstrated proficiency in interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and colleagues.
