As a Facilities Maintenance Specialist at Sterling Engineering Inc., you will be responsible for executing both general and preventive maintenance tasks for various shop machinery, ensuring optimal facility operations and building integrity.
Key Responsibilities- Interpret and analyze equipment manuals, schematics, and work orders to conduct necessary maintenance and repairs.
- Carry out routine and preventive maintenance on shop machinery.
- Execute mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic repairs on production and auxiliary equipment.
- Address emergency and unscheduled repairs of production machinery during operational hours, as well as perform scheduled maintenance during downtime.
- Adhere to a preventative maintenance schedule for molding equipment, fulfilling daily, weekly, monthly, semi-annual, and annual tasks as required.
- Maintain general upkeep of the facility.
- Conduct building repairs as needed.
- Fabricate equipment components when necessary.
- Replace electrical fuses and switches; install and upgrade lighting systems.
- Comply with basic electrical standards and effectively utilize testing equipment.
- Engage in basic robotic programming tasks.
- Support production runs of automated machinery by troubleshooting technical issues.
- Facilitate training on assembly machines and robotic setups.
- Prepare and configure machinery for scheduled production operations.
- Perform any additional duties as assigned.
- A high school diploma or GED is mandatory. Completion of an accredited two-year technical program or a four-year degree in a relevant field is preferred.
- Proficient in mechanical skills, including troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems of production machinery.
- Basic knowledge of ladder logic or PLC programming is advantageous.
- Familiarity with general safety practices in the workplace.
- Capable of using hand and power tools effectively, with skills in fabrication.
