Tree Climber

Xylem Tree of Charlotte LLC is seeking a skilled Tree Climber to join our team. As a Tree Climber, you will be responsible for climbing and pruning trees, as well as removing trees according to our Foreperson's directives.

• Tree Climbing and Pruning: Climb and prune trees using rope and safety saddles, and ensure that all climbing equipment is in good working condition.
• Tree Removal: Remove trees according to our Foreperson's directives, and ensure that all tree removal equipment is in good working condition.
• Equipment Maintenance: Inspect and maintain all assigned tools and equipment, and ensure that they are in good working condition.
• Safety and Risk Management: Safeguard employees and the public from hazards in and around the work area, and enforce safe job practices.
• Storm Work: Perform duties for storm work as needed, and ensure that all equipment is in good working condition.

• Experience: Prior experience in vegetation management, construction, logging, landscaping, mechanical, or military industries is preferred.
• Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Knowledge and Skills: Must be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of all knots, ropes, and rigging devices used in tree trimming and removal operations, and must be able to climb and descend trees using rope and safety saddles.
• Physical Demands: Must be able to work and maneuver at considerable heights under varying and adverse weather conditions, and must be able to possess physical strength and agility, good balance, good depth perception, and the ability to hear verbal instructions from a distance.
