As a Charge RN, you will oversee and manage the operations and activities of the unit during your designated shift, ensuring high-quality patient care and efficient operational performance that promotes seamless continuity of care.
Your role will involve:
- Resource Management: You will maintain authority over resource allocation to meet patient needs effectively.
- Team Leadership: Collaborate with the Nurse Manager and/or supervisor in the administration of patient care, while supervising the performance of Registered Nurses and non-licensed nursing staff.
Essential Skills:
- Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal relationship capabilities.
- Proficient in utilizing computer systems for documentation.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
- Ability to read and understand English sufficiently to follow written and verbal instructions, as well as safety protocols.
Required Experience:
Applicants should possess:
- A minimum of one year of experience in an acute care hospital setting.
Licensure and Certifications:
- Current BLS and PALS certifications for nurses working with pediatric patients.
- NRP certification is mandatory for nurses in Specialty Care Areas.
- A valid RN License to practice in the State of Texas.
Education:
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program with an Associate Degree in Nursing.
This position is full-time and offers an opportunity to make a significant impact in the lives of pediatric patients at El Paso Children's Hospital.
