Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced MRI Imaging Specialist to join our team at Medical Clinic of Houston. As a key member of our Radiology department, you will be responsible for operating medical imaging equipment, providing exceptional patient care, and contributing to the overall success of our clinic.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate MRI Equipment: Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to operate MRI scanners to provide cross-sectional images and complex data for determining medical treatment/diagnosis.
  • Manage Patient Workflow: Manage patient workflow for MRI procedures, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of services.
  • Maintain a Clean Environment: Maintain a professional and clean environment for the MRI Department at all times.
  • Monitor Scheduling and Protocols: Monitor Synapse RIS and EPIC for all scheduled procedures, obtain procedure protocols from radiologists, and review insurance pre-certification requirements before a procedure is performed.
  • Provide Excellent Customer Service: Ensure customer service is provided in a timely manner, and all procedures in MRI are interpreted in a timely manner.
  • Consult with Supervisor: Consult with supervisor or manager for problem solving and/or changes in procedures.
  • Report Incidents: Report incidents in a timely manner and within 24 hours.
  • Coordinate Maintenance: Coordinate the daily cleaning, periodical preventive maintenance of the equipment in MRI.
  • Develop and Review Protocols: Assist with developing, reviewing, and updating of MRI protocols and procedures.
  • Evaluate Protocols: Perform periodical evaluation of MRI protocols and procedures, under the direction of the Radiologists, to determine quality assurance and/or additional projections requirements.
  • Mentor and Train: Serve as a mentor and resource to train less experienced technologists.
  • Ensure Safety: Maintain a safe working environment and ensure all employees are properly trained on MRI safety.
  • Comply with Regulations: Ensure the MRI Department complies with all State and Federal regulations including ACR and TDH, as applicable to the areas of responsibility.
  • Cross-Train in CT: Learn and perform CT procedures as needed for department coverage.
  • Adhere to Policies: Adhere to the Radiology and Clinic Policy and Procedures and the Code of Conduct.
Specific Areas of ResponsibilityIntradepartmental Responsibilities
  • Order Supplies: Ensures adequate supplies are ordered and maintains par level products in Radiology.
  • Develop Working Relationships: Develops a working relationship with Physicians, all Clinic personnel, and Managers to ensure overall Clinic standards are met.
MRI Responsibilities
  • Ensure ACR Compliance: Ensures MRI is ACR compliance.
  • Communicate with Physicians: Effectively communicates with MCH Physicians, Radiologists, and Clinical personnel as it relates to delivering MRI services.
  • Review and Recommend Services: Reviews, assesses, and recommends new MRI imaging services for the Clinic.
  • Perform Preventive Maintenance: Ensures preventive maintenance is performed on the scanners and power injectors in MRI.
Radiologists Responsibilities
  • Liaison with Radiologists: Act as the liaison and maintain an open line of communication between the Radiologists and staff.
  • Communicate Service Interruptions: Communicates all potential interruptions of Radiology services and submits action plans to Manager and Radiologists.
