Cashier - Guest Experience Specialist

The Cashier plays a vital role in delivering an exceptional guest experience at Timber. This involves warmly greeting guests, explaining how things work to first-timers, welcoming back repeat guests, and taking orders and payment with accuracy and efficiency.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Arrive for shift on time and in proper work attire.
- Complete the Opening Checklist to ensure the Front of House is properly stocked, organized, and clean for service.
- Greet guests in a timely and friendly manner, and provide menus.
- Identify new guests and explain how seating and ordering works in a clear and helpful manner.
- Build rapport with repeat guests by calling them by name, remembering their usual order, etc.
- Answer guest questions in a caring and helpful manner.
- Make recommendations to assist the guest when appropriate.
- Take guests' orders with accuracy and enter them into the system.
- Process both cash and credit card payments.
- Always thank the guest.
- Answer the phone.
- Take and ring to-go orders.
- Keep the counter organized and menus stocked throughout the shift.
- Actively communicate with team members to ensure a seamless guest experience.
- Assist team members when required.
- Follow Timber protocol for handling service breakdowns and guest complaints.
- Ring alcohol responsibly, adhering to legal requirements and Timber standards.
- Adhere to Timber food safety and sanitation standards throughout the shift.
- Complete the Closing Checklist to ensure the Front of House is properly shut down at the end of service.
- Complete side work duties as assigned.
- May complete deep cleaning tasks per schedule.
- May complete other duties as assigned.
- Must be able to pass a 10-year federal background check in the airport.
- Enjoy hospitality and serving others.
- Have high energy and stamina to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Have excellent interpersonal skills.
- Be able to perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Be able to use technology to enter guest orders and process payment.
- Be able to work calmly and effectively under pressure.
- Be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
- Be able to stand and walk for up to 10 hours per day.
- Be able to work flexible shifts and schedules, including weekends and some holidays.
- Be able to perform essential functions to company standards with reasonable accommodation.
- Be able to communicate effectively in the primary language of the work location.
