Position Summary
The Planning team at PSE is seeking skilled candidates for the role of Senior Engineering Consultant. This position involves delivering expert engineering services and technical guidance to department leaders and engineering personnel, addressing complex technical challenges with specialized knowledge.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide professional engineering support in the planning, construction, operation, and maintenance of PSE facilities.
- Coordinate and oversee major components of intricate projects to achieve budgetary and timeline goals.
- Review engineering designs and documentation to ensure adherence to established standards and criteria.
- Engage in emergency response operations as necessary, upholding safety compliance standards.
Job Duties
- Focus on enhancing the capacity and operational efficiency of the distribution network, aligning with the integration of advanced smart grid technologies.
- Conduct thorough technical assessments of potential impacts from significant load increases, delivering prompt analyses and recommendations.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of the electric distribution system to proactively identify and address deficiencies.
- Prepare complex engineering analyses and studies to anticipate future requirements using advanced modeling software.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree or Professional Engineer (PE) license in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Extensive experience in engineering planning, design, and project management, typically acquired over a decade of practice.
- Proven ability to lead engineering projects and collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
Desired Skills
- Professional Engineering license preferred.
- Comprehensive understanding of power industry standards and practices.
- Experience with electrical analysis software and familiarity with utility accounting practices.
