Job Summary

The County of Ventura is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Director to lead the Human Services Agency. As a key member of the executive team, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the agency's operations, developing and implementing strategic plans, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Human Services Agency in achieving its mission and goals
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to improve service delivery and outcomes
  • Oversee the agency's operations, including budgeting, personnel management, and program development
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including community partners, government agencies, and other organizations
  • Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and policies governing human services
  • Make strategic decisions to improve the agency's performance and efficiency
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in public administration, social work, or a related field
  • Five years of increasingly responsible managerial experience in human services, including at least two years of upper management level experience
  • Master's degree in social work, public administration, or a related field is desirable
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire staff
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders
  • Knowledge of laws, regulations, and policies governing human services
  • Ability to analyze data and make strategic decisions
