The County of Ventura is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Director to lead the Human Services Agency. As a key member of the executive team, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the agency's operations, developing and implementing strategic plans, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to the community.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the Human Services Agency in achieving its mission and goals
- Develop and implement strategic plans to improve service delivery and outcomes
- Oversee the agency's operations, including budgeting, personnel management, and program development
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including community partners, government agencies, and other organizations
- Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and policies governing human services
- Make strategic decisions to improve the agency's performance and efficiency
- Bachelor's degree in public administration, social work, or a related field
- Five years of increasingly responsible managerial experience in human services, including at least two years of upper management level experience
- Master's degree in social work, public administration, or a related field is desirable
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire staff
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders
- Knowledge of laws, regulations, and policies governing human services
- Ability to analyze data and make strategic decisions
- A competitive salary range of $176,664.30 to $205,443.75
