Position Summary:
We are currently seeking a qualified Loan Specialist to provide support to a federal agency. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational abilities and excel in both written and verbal communication. Attention to detail and teamwork are essential, along with practical knowledge of loan administration and relevant documentation, including financial statements and credit instruments. A proven capability in financial analysis and document preparation is also crucial.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a variety of tasks based on assigned division, focusing primarily on complex loan processing, origination, servicing, and liquidation.
- Review loan files to understand the specific requirements, collateral, and terms associated with each loan.
- Analyze requests from borrowers or lenders regarding servicing or liquidation, making independent recommendations to supervisors.
- Conduct financial statement analysis, utilizing cash flow projections and ratio analysis to identify trends and initiate corrective actions.
- Provide extensive servicing and liquidation for complex delinquent loans, identifying underlying issues and developing solutions to protect agency interests.
- Engage with borrowers and lenders to counsel them on agency practices and assess their needs for additional assistance.
- Assist in training new personnel in loan servicing or purchasing, ensuring they understand procedures and policies.
- Maintain accurate entries in required systems to ensure data integrity and operational efficiency.
- Conduct necessary research to assist lenders with inquiries regarding submitted actions.
- Review and associate documents with loan files, ensuring proper transfer to relevant offices.
- Analyze transaction requests based on agency SOPs and guidelines.
- Utilize various software programs, including Microsoft Office Suite and specialized loan tracking systems, to perform daily tasks.
- Execute additional loan processing, servicing, or liquidation duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution; additional experience may substitute for educational requirements.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in liquidation, bankruptcy, and foreclosure processes.
- Familiarity with loan administration and related documentation.
- Eligibility to work for any U.S. employer without sponsorship.
