Elevated Education LLC is seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Education Teacher to join our team. As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing support and services to students with special needs across our alternative high school campuses in Phoenix.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and Implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs): Create and implement tailored IEPs for students with special needs, ensuring their academic success and well-being.
- Collaborate with School Staff and Parents: Work closely with classroom teachers, school staff, and parents to ensure that IEP goals are being met and adjusted as necessary.
- Provide Direct Instructional Support: Offer tailored teaching methods to meet individual student needs, promoting academic growth and development.
- Conduct Assessments and Interpret Data: Conduct assessments and interpret data to inform instruction and IEP development, ensuring that students receive the best possible support.
- Support Administrative Tasks: Assist the Director of Special Education in administrative tasks, including record-keeping, compliance monitoring, and reporting.
- Advocate for Students: Serve as a resource and advocate for students with special needs, ensuring their academic success and well-being.
- Facilitate Professional Development: Provide training and support for staff on special education practices and compliance, promoting a culture of inclusivity and excellence.
- Maintain Knowledge and Expertise: Stay up-to-date with the latest special education laws, regulations, and best practices, ensuring that students receive the best possible support.
- Foster a Positive Learning Environment: Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that promotes academic growth and development for all students.
- Travel between Campuses: Travel between various Phoenix campuses to provide on-site support and services to students with special needs.
- Bachelor's Degree in Special Education or Related Field: Possess a Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Valid Arizona State Teaching Certification: Hold a valid Arizona state teaching certification in Special Education.
- Experience in Special Education: Possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in special education, including both classroom teaching and administrative roles.
- Strong Knowledge of IEP Development: Demonstrate a strong knowledge of IEP development and implementation.
- Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Possess excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to Work Effectively: Demonstrate the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and school staff.
- High Level of Professionalism: Maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
- Valid Driver's License: Possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation for travel between campuses.
- Experience in Alternative Education: Possess experience working in alternative education settings.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish: Be bilingual in English and Spanish.
