ESL Teacher

We are seeking a highly qualified Elementary ESL Teacher to join our team at Springfield Public Schools. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons to students in grades PreK-6, promoting language acquisition and literacy skills.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of students, incorporating a range of instructional techniques and materials.
- Assess student progress regularly, providing constructive feedback and support to ensure academic success.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and behavior, as required by law and district policy.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum, share best practices, and support student learning.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay up-to-date with best practices in ESL education.
- Master's degree in English as a Second Language or a related field, or a Bachelor's degree with a valid ESL teaching license.
- Experience teaching ESL students in an elementary school setting, preferably in a urban or diverse community.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities, with a flexible and patient approach to teaching.
