Job Opportunity: Assistant Public Defender

The GeorgiaGov Public Defender's Office is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Assistant Public Defender to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional representation and advocacy to indigent clients in Superior Court.

Key Responsibilities:

• Represent clients in Superior Court in Baldwin, Putnam, Greene, Morgan, Jones, and Jasper Counties
• Prepare and present cases for trials and/or pleas
• Communicate effectively with clients and advocate defense positions in court and negotiations
• Perform professional legal work and assist in cases of routine complexity

Requirements:

• Juris Doctorate in a related area from an accredited college or university
• License to practice law in the State of Georgia or eligibility to sit for the next Georgia Bar examination
• Three years of relevant legal experience or three years of experience as an Attorney 3
