Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Diesel Truck and Trailer Maintenance Associate to join our team at our Portland, PA location. The ideal candidate will have a strong working knowledge of class 8 truck and trailer systems and components to ensure that our fleet is in safe, working condition and complies with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and repair engines, drivelines, and air brake systems
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair truck and trailer electrical wiring systems
  • Install PTO and blowers on all new trucks and modify new trucks as needed
  • Conduct preventative maintenance services
  • Trailer maintenance, inspections, roof repairs, slack adjusters, ABS systems, wheel seals, tires, etc.
  • Welding (MIG, Aluminum spool)
  • General class 8 truck troubleshooting and repair
  • Perform detailed D.O.T preventative inspections of trailers to identify issues and potential problems
  • Document inspection findings and repairs completed in maintenance logs
  • Ensure all trailers comply with state and federal regulations, including safety inspections and emissions standards
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed
  • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines while performing repairs and maintenance
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment to prevent accidents and injuries
  • Overtime and on-call as needed for emergencies
Requirements
  • Valid Class A CDL
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical school certification is preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a mechanic in a truck/trailer maintenance-related field
  • Strong knowledge of trailer systems, including brakes, suspensions, electrical, and hydraulic systems
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment
  • Own basic hand tools to repair class 8 trucks with diesel engines
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of computer diagnostics preferred; Cummins Insight, JPRO, WABCO, etc.
