Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and execute procurement orders for critical commodities and services, emphasizing supplier quality enhancement and total cost reduction.
  • Draft and manage purchase agreements of varying complexity, ensuring thorough documentation and compliance with approval processes.
  • Assess and mitigate risks during negotiations of terms and conditions.
  • Collaborate with Operations Program Managers and Supplier Quality teams to resolve supplier-related issues and enhance supplier performance.
  • Align purchasing strategies with internal stakeholders to guarantee timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services.
  • Contribute innovative solutions during proposal phases to meet project specifications.
  • Process purchase requisitions and manage order revisions and requests for quotes.
  • Conduct cost analysis on significant procurements to ensure optimal value.
  • Negotiate and formalize terms, pricing, delivery schedules, and quality standards for procurement activities.
  • Monitor procurement timelines and scopes to maintain quality standards while achieving cost efficiency.
  • Identify new suppliers when current sources are no longer viable and propose cost-saving alternatives.
  • Engage with suppliers and quality assurance teams to address quality concerns and maintain clear communication regarding material status.
  • Foster strong internal and external relationships and may oversee the activities of junior staff.
  • Lead initiatives aimed at continuous improvement to enhance material efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Participate in proposal planning sessions and collaborate with various departments to obtain updated Bills of Materials (BOM).
  • Provide insights into procurement strategies, including make/buy assessments and supplier evaluations.
  • Conduct supplier audits and support compliance reviews.
  • Mentor and guide other procurement professionals, driving efforts towards continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • At least 6 years of relevant experience in procurement and supply chain management within a manufacturing context, preferably in satellite antenna production.
  • Post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management or Purchasing; APICS/ASCM certification is advantageous.
  • Ability to interpret engineering specifications and drawings.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Experience with ERP systems like JDE is highly desirable.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of assigned commodities and advanced decision-making capabilities.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment while demonstrating initiative and independent judgment.
  • Strong negotiation skills with a focus on creating mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • In-depth understanding of supply management and government procurement regulations, including Federal Acquisition Requirements/DFAR.
  • Strong analytical abilities and experience in leading and mentoring teams.
  • This role may require access to technology governed by ITAR or EAR regulations; candidates must meet the definition of a 'U.S. Person' as per these regulations.
