Senior Electrical Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team at the Leidos Innovations Center in San Diego, CA. As a key member of our Space Systems Research Branch, you will play a critical role in developing and producing cutting-edge satellite sensor systems for research and development programs.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the development of electronics architectures for space payload systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, integrate, and test all aspects of Printed Circuit Board (PCB) systems.
- Contribute to scientific research, engineering product development, and test activities, with a focus on research and development.
- Work independently to perform engineering tasks with uncertain and evolving requirements, using judgment and expertise to drive results.
- Perform data analysis and write technical reports to document findings and recommendations.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field from an accredited college/university.
- 12+ years of relevant experience as an electrical engineer in an R&D environment, or 10+ years with a Master's degree.
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance.
- Proficient experience with Altium Designer or OrCAD for schematic capture and PCB layout, with a focus on high-speed digital designs using large Xilinx and Microsemi FPGAs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Demonstrated leadership of small technical teams and projects, with a focus on research and development.
- Experience reviewing and documenting technical data packages for military products.
- Space qualified PCB design experience, with a focus on high-speed digital designs.
- Knowledge of signal integrity techniques and experience with PCB analysis tools like HyperLynx.
- Breadth of experience in a complementary discipline like circuit design, FPGA design, or embedded software.
Leidos is committed to providing a competitive compensation package, including a salary range of $122,000 to $220,900.00, depending on qualifications and experience.
