Position: Sculling Coach

Compensation: $20.00 USD per hour

Overview:

Boating in DC is seeking enthusiastic and skilled sculling coaches for the upcoming seasonal program. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about outdoor activities and enjoy imparting their knowledge of rowing techniques to others.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct a variety of sculling classes for participants of all skill levels, from beginners to advanced rowers.
• Classes are scheduled throughout the week, primarily in the early morning and late afternoon/evening, as well as weekends.
• Collaborate with site managers and fellow instructors to ensure a positive learning environment.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in teaching sculling is essential.
• US Rowing certification or training is highly preferred.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and instruct groups effectively.
• A genuine passion for rowing and water sports.
• Prior experience as a rower or coxswain is required.
• Ability to swim and perform rescue techniques.
• Experience operating a safety launch and holding a valid boating license is a plus.
• First Aid and CPR certification is preferred.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

• Ability to move frequently within the facility and perform tasks that require bending, lifting, and carrying.
• Capable of lifting weights up to 50 lbs. and standing for extended periods.
• Comfortable working in varying outdoor conditions, including wet and slippery environments.
• Proficient in English, with clear communication skills to interact with participants and team members.
