Position Overview
The Registered Nurse Coordinator plays a vital role in overseeing the bed management system to ensure seamless patient admissions and transfers. This position is essential for optimizing hospital occupancy and minimizing service delays.
Department: Case Management
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate a centralized system for bed management to enhance patient flow and operational efficiency.
- Engage with clinical teams to assess the status of pending discharges and bed availability, adjusting assignments as necessary.
- Evaluate all admissions and transfers for clinical appropriateness and medical necessity, taking corrective actions when criteria are not met.
- Provide guidance and support to admissions coordinators to ensure optimal patient access and flow.
- Analyze bed management metrics, identify challenges, propose solutions, and prepare reports for executive review.
Qualifications
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- Registered Nurse credential from the Oklahoma Board of Nursing required prior to the start date.
Education:
- Diploma from an accredited nursing school or equivalent professional licensure at the time of hire.
Preferred Experience
- A minimum of 3 years of bedside nursing experience is preferred.
