Position Overview
The Inspection Engineer plays a crucial role in the manufacturing sector, focusing on the establishment, management, and enhancement of inspection systems that align with production objectives. This position is essential for ensuring workplace safety, optimizing manufacturing efficiency, and supporting production capabilities through effective cycle time and downtime management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Employ data analysis and the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) methodology to lead and develop solutions for complex equipment issues, with an emphasis on reducing the abnormal count of inspection equipment.
- Oversee and manage equipment to guarantee peak manufacturing performance while minimizing operational costs and ensuring a safe working environment.
- Generate, analyze, and present reports to identify machine micro stops, breakdowns, and yield impacts, leading the development of corrective actions for continuous improvement.
- Develop and manage preventive maintenance work orders for inspection technicians, ensuring the calibration and accuracy of inspection machinery.
- Create and maintain operational manuals related to inspection equipment, including comprehensive flow diagrams.
- Utilize actual production data to advocate for capital and operational expenditure changes concerning inspection equipment, including the adoption of new technologies.
- Enhance the skills of self and team members through training, mentoring, and experience sharing, including technician skill development.
- Guide and mentor fellow engineers, delegating tasks as necessary.
- Communicate effectively across all organizational levels and shifts to ensure a unified understanding and direction.
- Coordinate with local and international vendors to facilitate equipment repairs and replacements.
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Maintain a clean work environment in accordance with 5S3R standards.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience.
- 3 to 7+ years of experience in a manufacturing-related role or similar relevant experience.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Preferred knowledge of battery production.
- Experience with machine vision is highly desirable.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Catia, etc.) is a plus.
- Exhibit a positive attitude, open-mindedness, and a collaborative spirit.
- Strong self-motivation and a desire to thrive in a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Adept at multitasking and solving complex issues.
- Strong technical analysis and troubleshooting capabilities.
- Ability to manage projects and timelines effectively.
- Korean language proficiency is an advantage.
Additional Requirements:
- Compliance with company Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) standards.
- Able to work in both office and manufacturing settings.
- Hands-on support of equipment is required.
- Consistent and regular attendance is essential.
- Flexibility to adjust shifts as needed.
- This role may involve up to 10% travel (domestic and/or international).
