Your Day
  • Drive short distances while delivering finished goods and raw materials to and from manufacturing plants, or distribution centers, and customers.
  • Report any incidents encountered on the road to a dispatcher.
  • Follow all applicable traffic laws.
  • Inspect vehicles daily to ensure safety and compliance with DOT regulations.
  • Report serious mechanical problems to appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain trucks and associated equipment in clean and good working order.
  • Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues as well as perform preventative maintenance.
  • Plan routes and meet delivery schedules.
  • Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures.
  • Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions.
  • Collect and verify delivery instructions.
  • Report defects, accidents, or violations.
  • Carry or lift heavy objects while squatting, kneeling down, bending, or crawling in awkward positions.
  • Operate crane and other equipment to load and unload flatbeds.
  • Deliver excellent customer service.
