Position Overview:
Shift Engineer
The primary responsibility of this engineering role involves overseeing multiple properties through a Building Management System (BMS) and various monitoring platforms from a centralized office.
The engineer is expected to respond to all BMS-generated alerts and promptly communicate any unresolved issues to the Chief Engineer.
During each shift, the engineer is required to maintain a shift log, conduct site assessments, proactively engage with property managers and contractors regarding emerging issues, and provide remote support for on-site troubleshooting as necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor several properties remotely using an ALC BMS and other monitoring systems from an office environment.
Assist contractors in performing preventive maintenance in accordance with OEM guidelines and client specifications.
Communicate with property managers and contractors as required for issues related to temperature, humidity, HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, and leak detection.
Collaborate with the Chief Engineer to ensure all issues and repairs are documented and communicated effectively.
Complete a shift log and conduct multiple site assessments during each shift for various properties.Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications is required.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and equipment specifications.
Must possess troubleshooting skills for basic electrical control circuits.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent; 3-5 years of relevant education and experience.
Additional Requirements:
Valid driver's license.
Competencies:
Knowledge of HVAC systems
Electrical expertise
Moderate computer proficiency
Understanding of chillers and cooling towers
Familiarity with generators, PDUs, UPS, and battery systems
Physical Requirements:

While executing the responsibilities of this position, the employee is frequently required to lift objects, perform short-distance lifts, and stand for 2 to 3 hours at a time.Work Environment:
