We are seeking a skilled Fleet Mechanic to join our team at Student Transportation of America. As a Fleet Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing complex operations on large commercial vehicles, including engine, electrical, fuel, brake, and exhaust repairs. You will also be responsible for performing thorough preventive maintenance inspections and completing all required maintenance operations.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform thorough, accurate preventative maintenance inspections.
  • Complete all required maintenance operations, including lubrication, fluid changes, brake adjustments, and tire rotation.
  • Perform unscheduled maintenance as needed, under the direction of the Fleet Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Perform complex operations, including engine, electrical, fuel, brake, and exhaust repairs, and field tests.
  • Perform emergency roadside services as needed.
  • Inspect equipment and diagnose mechanical defects.
  • Document repairs and parts on work orders completely and accurately.
  • Maintain tools and workplaces in a neat and orderly condition.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience as a diesel mechanic or mechanic preferred.
  • Accreditation from a school or certification program preferred.
  • Complete all training requirements.
  • Pre-employment background checks.
