Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Taxation Manager to join our team at Spartan Placements LLC. As a Taxation Manager, you will be responsible for leading tax engagements, supervising team members, and providing expert advice to clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Tax Engagements: Plan, supervise, and complete routine tax engagements, including reviewing engagement work papers, resolving problems, and keeping the director informed of all important developments.
  • Supervise Team Members: Supervise Associates and Senior Associates, provide feedback to them, and evaluate their career development.
  • Coordinate with Team Members: Coordinate with team members to work jointly on tax engagements.
  • Develop Expertise: Become an expert in your assigned areas and specialties.
  • Identify Opportunities: Recognize opportunities to provide additional services to existing clients.
  • Oversee Tax Returns: Oversee the preparation and filing of all tax returns, including federal, state, and local taxes.
  • Develop Tax Planning Strategies: Develop and implement tax planning strategies to minimize tax liability and maximize tax benefits for clients.
  • Review Financial Statements: Review and analyze financial statements to identify tax issues and opportunities.
  • Conduct Research: Conduct research independently to address tax law, tax planning, and other client needs as they arise.
  • Develop Relationships: Develop and maintain relationships with external tax advisors and government agencies.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master's Degree preferred.
  • Professional Certifications: CPA or EA required.
  • Experience: 5-10 years of experience in public accounting.
  • Skills: Efficiency in Excel and research-based software, skilled communicator, both verbally and written, well-organized, and detail-oriented.
  • Additional Requirements: Ability to take and pass a background check, work flexible hours as needed.
