Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Speech Language Pathologist to join our team in a hybrid role that encompasses both inpatient and outpatient services, specifically focusing on oncology patients.

Certification Requirements
  • BLS Certification (AHA only, no HeartCode)
  • State SLP License must be current and valid
Job Responsibilities
  • Provide therapy in a hybrid setting with a schedule of 5x8s during the day.
  • No on-call duties, no floating between units, and no weekend shifts.
  • Specialize in oncology-related care, including management of tracheostomy and laryngectomy patients.
  • Work in a unit that maintains a moderate pace, with variations as needed.
  • Conduct Modified Barium Swallow Studies regularly.
  • Focus on assessments and treatments related to cognitive, language, speech, and voice.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience is required, with 5 years preferred.
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply.
  • Complete an orientation of approximately 80 hours, with around 72 hours spent on the floor.
  • Wear wine-colored scrubs (not provided).
  • Utilize EPIC documentation for patient records.
Essential Skills
  • Experience with conditions such as Dysarthria, Dysphagia, and Tracheostomy care.
  • Ability to conduct and interpret Modified Barium Swallow Studies.
  • Knowledge of signs and symptoms related to abuse (physical, sexual, psychological).
  • Skills in Patient and Family Education, Assessment, Discharge Planning, and Point of Service Documentation.
  • Experience working with young, middle-aged, and older adult populations.
Additional Information
  • Government-issued photo ID is required.
  • Certifications such as ACLS, BLS, PALS, CHEMO, Tech Cert, HIPAA, and State License are mandatory based on unit specialty.
  • Facility-specific documentation for flu and COVID-19 exemptions will be necessary.
  • Health documents including Physical Exam, Immunizations, and Drug Testing are required.
