Role Summary and Qualifications

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-focused care and overseeing all functions within the unit/department during their assigned shift. Collaborating with the management team, the CNC directs, monitors, and assesses nursing care in accordance with established protocols, serves as a resource for staff, and exemplifies a commitment to the organization's vision, mission, and values to enhance patient experiences and clinical outcomes. Key responsibilities include:
  • Facilitating admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient patient flow and high-quality care.
  • Engaging in the continuous evaluation of patient care quality within the unit, in partnership with the management team.
  • Collaborating with subject matter experts and other leaders to foster a teamwork-oriented environment that promotes improved outcomes and service delivery.
  • Advocating for a patient-centered approach and engaging in service recovery when necessary.
  • Supporting initiatives to enhance employee engagement through current nursing strategies, including rounding and other programs.
  • Providing input on the recruitment, selection, and training of new staff. Implementing training and development, conflict resolution, and performance evaluation processes to ensure organizational excellence.
  • Assisting with staff scheduling and managing labor resources in line with patient care needs and productivity standards.
  • Overseeing inventory management and assisting with the procurement of supplies and equipment.
Qualifications Required:

Applicants should be graduates of an accredited nursing program (diploma, associate, or baccalaureate degree).

Possession of a Registered Nurse License to practice in the state of Tennessee or an Active Multi-State RN Compact License is required.

If holding a Compact License, obtaining a Tennessee RN License within a specified timeframe is necessary.

A current American Heart Association BLS Certification is required, along with a minimum of two years of healthcare experience.

Preferred qualifications include a BSN and at least three years of healthcare experience.
