Job Title: Resident Instructor

Community Residences is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Resident Instructor to join our team. As a key member of our residential program, you will play a vital role in creating a nurturing and supportive environment for individuals with developmental disabilities.

Job Summary

The Resident Instructor will be responsible for providing direct care and support to clients, including creating a positive learning environment, implementing individual plans of care, and monitoring medical and behavioral changes. This is a dynamic and rewarding role that requires strong communication and organizational skills, as well as a passion for helping others.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized plans of care to meet the unique needs of each client
  • Provide direct care and support to clients, including assistance with daily living activities, medication administration, and transportation
  • Monitor and report medical and behavioral changes to the Program Manager and RN
  • Participate in training opportunities and maintain required certifications and training
  • Assist with household management, meal preparation, and maintenance of the residence
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, families, and community partners
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent and at least two years of experience in the field of human services
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Valid CT driver's license and reliable transportation
