EDUCATION: Graduation from an accredited nursing program is required. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred. All newly hired registered nurses must possess current Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification or obtain it within one month of employment.
EXPERIENCE: The role of Registered Nurse serves as the foundational job description for all RNs. All RNs are encouraged to pursue advancement through the SPIRE clinical advancement program.
LICENSURE: Must be a licensed and currently registered nurse in the State of Connecticut. Clinical specialty certification is highly encouraged.

PHYSICAL DEMAND: This position requires prolonged standing, walking, and the use of sight, hearing, and touch. There may be exposure to infectious diseases and to physical, mental, and emotional illnesses, as well as end-of-life conditions and death. The role involves moderate stress and potential injury risks from patient care, with standing/walking for more than half of the day, frequent bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, twisting, and lifting. The RN must be capable of assisting with the movement of patients weighing between five (5) and three hundred (300) pounds.
Additional Information1 year of acute RN experience is required.
