Job Summary and Qualifications

The Registered Nurse (RN) Resident I position at HCA MidAmerica Health offers an opportunity to join a dynamic team of healthcare professionals in Kansas City, Missouri. This role is designed for new graduate nurses who want to transition from student nurse to registered nurse with hands-on experience.

Responsibilities
  • Assess patient condition during admission and each shift, identifying changes and reporting them to medical providers.
  • Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by medical providers, documenting administration of care in patient records.
  • Administer prescribed medications, monitoring patient response and notifying providers of unintended effects.
  • Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests and anticipating their needs.
  • Teach patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, and follow-up measures, ensuring clear understanding of complex medical terminology.
Requirements
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of employment.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within one year of employment.
  • Other certifications may be required during employment.
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing to be completed before start date.
  • Registered Nurse License or Graduate Nurse in the State.
  • No previous experience necessary.
  • Some travel may be needed for training, with a focus on remaining local to the Kansas City metro area.
