Job Overview

Compensation: $25 per hour

The position involves advanced professional responsibilities in the development, organization, management, and assessment of designated programs and functions. The incumbent will provide guidance and technical expertise to program staff, various departments, the community, and participants involved in the programs. This role may include coordination of specialized initiatives.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will deliver nutritional services on behalf of Hillsborough County Health Care Services, encompassing nutrition counseling, educational outreach, menu planning, and the creation of informative materials. Collaboration with staff to develop, organize, manage, and assess community initiatives and participant programs is essential.

Attention to detail, the ability to work autonomously, and strong communication and training skills are critical. A minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition or Dietetics from an ACEND-accredited program is required. The candidate must effectively motivate individuals towards healthier lifestyle choices and possess experience in teaching and training both individuals and groups.

This role primarily serves locations in the southern county area, necessitating reliable transportation to various sites. The selected individual must be prepared to fulfill this essential function.

Fluency in both English and Spanish, in both written and verbal forms, is mandatory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Designs, develops, organizes, and evaluates processes to ensure efficient program service delivery and achievement of objectives.
  • Engages in needs assessment data analysis to support grant applications for project funding.
  • Interprets and clarifies policies, processes, applicable laws, and guidelines to resolve issues and provide information to current and prospective program participants.
Coordinates actions across multiple organizational entities and ensures all details and program requirements are fulfilled.

Reviews program operations for compliance, identifies strengths and weaknesses, and recommends corrective measures.

Instructs individuals and groups on compliance with program regulations.

Writes or updates procedural and training manuals and summary reports.

Conducts orientation, training, and presentations for individuals, groups, and organizations.

Recruits and trains volunteers and program staff, developing work schedules to ensure adequate coverage.

Conducts surveys to gather feedback on program services and customer satisfaction, identifying service gaps.

Minimum Qualifications

  • One year of relevant experience; OR
  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Emergency Management Responsibilities

In emergencies or disasters, employees may be required to fulfill duties as assigned by their department or the County's Office of Emergency Management.

Additional Job Requirements

Departments may require employees in this classification to maintain the ability to pass background checks and possess necessary job-related licenses or certifications, including a Florida Driver License (Class E) or applicable Commercial Driver License (CDL).
