Position Summary:
The Facility Maintenance Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the cleanliness and upkeep of our community center, supporting various programs and activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct daily cleaning operations within the community center, including sweeping and mopping tile floors, maintaining restrooms, and managing waste disposal throughout the facility.
- Perform thorough cleaning of bathrooms and vacuum carpeting as required, ensuring a hygienic environment.
- Regularly clean windows and glass surfaces to maintain a welcoming atmosphere.
- Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment to ensure all necessary materials are available.
- Engage in general landscaping tasks, such as mowing lawns, trimming hedges, weeding, and watering plants.
- Clear snow from walkways and parking areas, applying salt as necessary for safety.
- Assist in the setup and breakdown of events hosted by the congregation and community groups.
- Facilitate the movement of donations to designated areas within the facility.
- Perform routine checks on major appliances to ensure they are functioning properly and address minor repairs as needed.
- Schedule and oversee regular maintenance for vehicles, ensuring they are fueled and cleaned.
- Assist with the pickup and delivery of food items for community programs and seasonal events.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid driver's license and approval as a driver from the organization's insurance provider.
- A minimum of six months of custodial or related experience.
- At least one year of experience in facility maintenance.
