We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Patient Safety Coordinator to join our team at Novant Health. This is an exciting opportunity to provide safe, continuous quality patient care in a variety of settings.
About the Role:
- Work with diverse patients: Our team members work with all age group patients or act as companions.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals: The successful team member has a commitment to leveraging diversity and inclusion in support of quality care.
- Maintain a safe environment: All Novant Health team members are responsible for fostering a safe patient environment driven by the principles of 'First Do No Harm'.
- Provide one-on-one observation of selected patients to identify behaviors which are potentially hazardous to self or others.
- Report needs and concerns to licensed nurses.
- Participate in ongoing training and education to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Contribute to a positive and inclusive work environment.
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.
- Experience: Previous hospital experience, preferred.
- Licensure/Certification:
- De-Escalation Techniques (within 90 days of employment), required.
- Life Support Responder (within 90 days of employment), required.
- Management of Aggressive Behaviors (MOAB) Training (within 90 days after completion of De-Escalation Training), required.
- Additional Skills:
- Able to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing as applicable.
- Knowledgeable regarding guidelines for infection control, body substance precautions, patient safety, and body mechanics.
- Basic computer skills for documentation.
