Job Title: Sr. Engineer - Asset Management

At Duquesne Light Company, we are seeking a highly skilled Sr. Engineer - Asset Management to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for providing technical support and expertise for the lifecycle activities of our overhead and underground transmission and distribution networks.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement cost-effective asset replacement projects and programs to address aging infrastructure and performance issues.
  • Provide technical support to engineering, shops, construction, and maintenance personnel to address equipment maintenance, testing, repairs, replacements, operations, compliance, and technical specification matters.
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external standards, including PUC, NESC, and NERC, by developing, monitoring, and managing programs, as well as maintaining records and data in accordance with established requirements.
  • Establish and maintain tailored preventive maintenance programs for assets based on asset criticality and health to increase asset life.
  • Evaluate current work methods to ensure compliance with applicable safety standards and make recommendations for improved company operating practices.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution or a commensurate combination of education and experience.
  • Seven (7) years of related experience required.
  • Professional Engineering License preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal forms.
  • Basic computer skills with Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Experience utilizing Asset/Work Tracking databases (such as Maximo) preferred.
  • General knowledge of OSHA, NEC, NESC, NERC, FERC, and environmental regulations preferred.
Physical Requirements:

Normal office environment with a hybrid schedule, and some travel to different company service locations. Participation in field visits to work sites may include less desirable conditions, including climbing ladders, walking in wooded areas, or visiting hazardous locations. A valid PA Driver's license is necessary for the position.
