Job Summary

The operations intern will learn management techniques, while supporting the APU Manager and operations leads in our Hot Mill APU (Autonomous Production Unit). The operations intern will focus primarily on supporting the production processes and optimizing day-to-day functions using leadership skills and techniques to improve the quality of work.

Responsibilities:

The operations intern will have exposure to similar experiences assigned to operation lead role, including one or more of the following:

  • Schedule meetings and record meeting notes
  • Responsible for prioritizing and managing multiple assignments simultaneously
  • Communicates effectively in visual, oral, and written form utilizing required technologies
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Power Point software applications and the ability to learn in-house software. Basic excel skills will be required.
  • Review and update standard operating procedures (SOP's) including working with operators, supervisors, and management on process efficiency
  • Safety mindset
  • Assist with additional special projects, engagement activities and assignments as needed

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing or have obtained a bachelor's degree in business management or related field
  • Experience using Excel, Word, Outlook with strong focus on spreadsheet applications
  • High level of integrity, accuracy, dependability, enthusiasm, and confidentiality
  • Strong organizational skills, extreme attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines in a multitasking environment in a team-oriented environment
  • Requires effective written and oral communication skills, sufficient to communicate with all levels of the organization, visitors, and customers
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information
  • Well-developed critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Minimal physical effort is required
