Job Summary
Essentia Health is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team in the Operating Room. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing technical support to our surgical team, ensuring the highest level of patient care and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist surgeons and anesthesiologists during surgical procedures, maintaining a sterile environment and handling instruments and equipment.
- Prepare and maintain operating room equipment, instruments, and supplies, ensuring they are in good working condition.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure smooth and efficient surgical procedures.
- Participate in pre-operative and post-operative patient care, providing emotional support and assistance as needed.
- Maintain accurate records and reports, adhering to regulatory and accreditation standards.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program or equivalent experience.
- Current certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA).
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with the surgical team.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information.
Working Conditions
- Work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with frequent exposure to surgical procedures and patient care.
- May be required to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
