We are seeking a skilled Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join our team at a local metro surgery center.
Responsibilities- Manage patients' airway or pulmonary status using techniques such as endotracheal intubation and extubating, mechanical ventilation, pharmacological support, and respiratory therapy.
- In collaboration with clinic management, establish the type and scope of anesthesia services required to meet the needs of patients and the surgery center in an independent care team model.
- Select, prepare, or use equipment, monitors, supplies, or drugs for the administration of anesthetics.
- Select, order, and administer anesthetics, adjuvant drugs, accessory drugs, fluids, or blood products.
- Perform pre-anesthetic screenings including physical evaluations and patient interviews, and document results. Monitor patients' responses including skin color, pupil dilation, pulse, heart rate, blood pressure, respiration, ventilation, or urine output using invasive and noninvasive techniques.
- Respond to emergency situations by providing airway management, administering emergency fluids or drugs, or using basic or advanced cardiac life support techniques.
- Develop anesthesia care plans.
- Obtain informed consent from patients for anesthesia procedures.
- Assess patients' medical histories to predict anesthesia response.
- Perform or manage regional anesthetic techniques such as local, spinal, epidural, caudal, nerve blocks and intravenous blocks.
- Evaluate patients' post-surgical or post-anesthesia responses, taking appropriate corrective actions or requesting consultation if complications occur. Administer post-anesthesia medications or fluids to support patients' cardiovascular systems.
- Discharge patients from post-anesthesia care.
- Successful completion of a program approved by the AANA Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Education programs.
- 5+ years of previous independent CRNA experience required.
- Previous leadership or management experience required.
- Licensing and Certification:
- Current Minnesota Registered Nurse License.
- Current certification through the National Board on Certification and Re-Certification of Nurse Anesthetists with compliance with all continuing education requirements.
- Additional certification to include BLS and ACLS.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a medical surgery center setting in Edina and Burnsville, MN.
