About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Survey Party Chief to join our team at Stantec. As a key member of our surveying team, you will be responsible for leading and guiding our survey crew in the collection and analysis of geospatial data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and Guide the Survey Crew: Provide close guidance and supervision to our survey crew, ensuring that all tasks and projects are completed to the highest standards.
  • Collect and Analyze Geospatial Data: Collect and analyze geospatial data using a range of surveying equipment, including levels, robotic total stations, GPS equipment, and data collectors.
  • Transfer Survey Data: Assist in transferring survey data to our computer network, ensuring that all data is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Maintain Equipment and Vehicles: Maintain and clean our survey equipment and vehicles, ensuring that they are in good working order at all times.
  • Perform Other Duties: Perform other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned by our team leaders.
Requirements
  • Basic Knowledge of Surveying: Possess a basic knowledge of surveying principles and practices.
  • Teamwork and Communication Skills: Be able to work well in a team environment and possess good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Mathematical Skills: Possess basic mathematical skills, including the ability to perform calculations and analyze data.
  • Experience with Survey Equipment: Have experience using GPS, data collectors, total stations, robotics, and other survey equipment.
  • Education and Experience: Possess a high school diploma and at least 3 years of experience in land surveying.
